THE ASYLUM, MIGRATION AND
INTEGRATION FUND (AMIF)

Jan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2024

Description

The aim of the project is to establish a common European ground to support the design and implementation of local integration strategies specifically targeted to women, based on a personalised, participatory, and multi-stakeholder approach. The project will do so by co-designing a model, translating it into 7 local strategies, and pilot-testing it with migrant women.

It is anticipated that project activities will be in line with developing and implementing local integration strategies through multi-stakeholder partnerships.

Expected results:

  • to contribute to a better socio-economic integration of migrant women in the involved countries by i) offering personalised roadmaps to integration combining upskilling, awareness-raising and social activities tailored to each woman’s specific needs ii) addressing different aspects of the integration process, women’s autonomy, awareness of existing services;
  • to offer migrant women a safe space to interact with the local community, and thus to strengthen their sense of belonging to the host society, as well as to bring a cascade effect on other migrant women, not directly involved in the project;
  • to develop multi-stakeholder partnerships, including organisations, research centres, and municipalities, in order to ease the sustainability of the local strategies and the mainstreaming of the model among relevant policy makers and local stakeholders involved in integration processes;
  • to activate transnational peer-learning and exchange of practices between organisations and municipalities in order to share new ideas on how to tackle integration issues and inspiring future strategies in the involved countries and beyond.
